English sonnet

Nightmares

Faded away the colors of dreams hush
Sparkling night the trepidation brave
Foraging scavengers eye the bold brush
Cowering winds cover hiding dark knave
Shaking down to ground will shorten the heart
Bringing fancies frightening mind away
Cool darkness brushes the faltered start
Sending through shadows the stammering day
Skimming thought the creatures seek far-off place
To grasp in net the shuddering being
Till time slows tangibility to face
Touching oppressor forever seeing
Eyes close in softness hope to awake
Floundering in madness it cannot break

Wind

Brushing through clouds like the fingers of angels
Breathing the rain down upon the earth below
Lifting higher the light and graceful feather
Soaring above all the wind does blow

Brushing creations of refined bright mist
Carrying living moisture to dry brittle earth
Dusting the trees with a flocking of white
Saving the life for the ensuing worlds birth

Carving intricate pathways in earth and stone
Scoring hills and mountains with resolute will
Trees to nurture with required assistance
Seeds to bear up and living ground to till

Sounding songs of whispering gracefulness
Lifting thought apart from the world below
Smoothly becalming troubled spirit to ease
Soaring above all the wind does blow
